However birders and nature enthusiasts do not want to forfeit quality for convenience and Minox has made sure that the small size does not compromise quality. Yes, the new Minox spotting scope can, under certain conditions, be an excellent supplement to binoculars, in particular if a stronger magnification than available binoculars is required.
With the 16X magnification of the variable eyepiece the compact MD 50 W can at times be hand-held, although for optimum use a tripod is always recommended. The Minox MD 50 is very powerful and provides good bright images. For high light transmission as well as brilliance, high contrast and natural color rendition the high resolution objective lens system features the Minox multi-layer M coating. This helps to ensure the high quality required for detailed observation and reliable identification of a species. The engineers at Minox have also provided an extremely close focus range making using the Minox MD 50 a real pleasure. An angled scope provides a more relaxed stance during viewing and with a swivel tripod connection the spotting scope can be pivoted when on a tripod. The sturdy but lightweight body protects the precision mechanics and optics against damage in normal use. Rubber armoring ensures good to grip and provides added protection as it is also dustproof and watertight to a depth of 15 feet. Nitrogen filling on the inside prevents corrosion and fogging caused by condensation, even with extreme temperature changes.
Minox 62 W & 62 ED W Spotting Scopes

something many nature observers and birdwatchers desire. With the spotting
scopes, Minox MD 62 and MD 62 ED with angle view, Minox has supplemented its
sport optics program to meet this requirement. Here again the company values of
compact design, quality and precision are consistently applied, as with all
products from Minox in the field of sport optics. The spotting scope is one of the most compact
models available.
The optical designers attached particular importance to an extremely short
focusing distance and it is therefore possible with the MD 62 to observe
everything which grows, blossoms and moves in the area in the closest detail,
yet remaining at a safe distance. Even just 15 feet away!
The sturdy metal housing protects the precision mechanical parts and precision
optics against harmful influence from the outside and the nitrogen filling
prevents misting up of the optical system on the inside, even under extreme
temperature fluctuations. The eyepieces 21-42x L.E.R., vario 20-45x, 22xww, 30xww
and 40x complete the new MD range of spotting scopes. These ensure a universal
application and with the bayonet mount system it is instantly ready for use.
